BUHARI SAYS HE NEEDS OUR PRAYERS.

Image: President Buhari steps down from a plane.

"GOVERNANCE IS NOT A JOKE"
"...Someone is saying he wants Biafra, it is because he was not born
when there was Biafra".
----Gen. Buhari

The president of the federal republic of Nigeria has recently appealed
to Nigerians for support through prayers, citing that governance
should not be taken lightly.
He said this while breaking yesterday's fast with some of his
cabinet members, adding that Nigeria will go far economically and all
round with prayers.
"We need a lot of prayers especially in this month of prayers and
service to God, let's keep up with our prayers so that God in his
infinite mercy will grant us peace, security and better the economy
once more"
He also added that those agitating for the sovereign state of
Biafra should be careful and reflect on the Civil war that claimed
almost 2 million lives.
"We have to reflect on history so we can know what is before us and
what we intend to leave for the generations after us".
Speaking further on unrest, militants and internal aggression he said:
"The militants in their homes should reflect seriously on what
happened between 1967 and 1970, over two million lives were lost"
"Look at what Gen. Gowon said; to keep Nigeria as one is a task
that must be done, and every soldier understood it clearly. But
instead of fighting a common enemy, we are quarelling with our
brothers, and someone is saying that he wants Biafra, it is because he
was not born when there was Biafra".

Nigerians in her audience and she has deleted them.
This comes after, the Ekiti state governor, falsely accused the
woman oif being involved in a scandal involving a former US
congressman. The EFCC has since refuted the claims. And Aisha Buhari
took to twitter to pour heated up abuses on Fayose. Saying she was
ready for him.
But Nigerians are wondering why she should further downgrade
herself by answering Fayose in the first place.
The Governor also accused the president of being corrupt too. In
his statement: "Buhari is not an angel". We are yet to get any word
from him since the incidents.

AFTER ORLANDO KILLINGS: US SENATE CAN'T DECIDE ON GUN CONTROL.

A week after the Orlando killings in a night club, the US
senate yesterday failed to agree on enactable gun control laws to the
states. The Democrats and republicans had put forward amendments to
the standing gun laws to ensure that firearms do not find their way
into the possession of prospective terrorists. But all the proposals
fell through and none could scale up to 60 votes, the minimum number
needed to clear a procedural hurdle in the senate.
All four proposals(suggestions) to expand security checks on gun
sales and purchases fell through. Even a compromise could no be
reached to keep fire arms away from people on FBI's terrorism
watchlist. This happened as the parents and family members watched
with tears in their eyes from the gallery of the senate house, as the
realisation dawned on them that no viable conclusion will be reached.

THIS MAN MADE AN ATTEMPT ON TRUMP'S LIFE.

A man was arrested during a Trump rally in LasVegas for
allegedly making an attempt on Trump's life. The man in question is
one Michael Steven Sandford a 20 year old and he was charged "with
violence on restricted grounds".
Sandford was reported to have tried to seize a police officer's
holstered gun, after telling the securities that he wanted Trump's
autograph. The Brit claimed that he had always wanted to shoot Trump
for over a year now, but felt the rally was his best opportunity of
confidence.
Trump's campaign have been dangerously 'rowdy' with protests and
demonstrations being the main features of his rallies. And the
republican candidate is fond of mocking the demonstrators giving rise
to more uproar. It is not the first or the second time a seemingly
looking attempt has been made on his life. BBC reports that in a
campaign event in March-securites had to swarm for Trump's cover when
a man made a threatening attempt to climb the stage where Trump was
speaking. And other campaign events on Trump's side have been
cancelled over security issues.
Mr. Sandford revealed in court, his determination to kill Trump,
insisting that if he hadn't succeeded in the LasVegas rally, he would
have waited for another opportunity soon to come in the Phoenix rally.
He also said that he knew he had just time to fire a couple of rounds
before he would be killed. Adding that his confidence to kill peaked
when he saw that the police man's gun was in an unlocked
position-perfect timing to seize and shoot.
Research revealed that the man was living in the US illegally and
had migrated into the States a year and half ago. A court defendant
claimed Mr. Sandford had autism- a rare medical condition
characterised by high level instability. It was also discovered that
he had at one time attempted suicide.

EFCC BLOCKS GOV. FAYOSE'S ACCOUNT.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has confirmed that
they've blocked the Zenith bank accounts of Ekiti state
governor-Fayose Ayodele.
The Governor in a press released also said, that the accounts of a
few of his colleagues were also affected, and pointed accusing fingers
at APC's party chiefs. He made referrence to section 308 of the
constitution while insisting that he had as much immunity as the
president had. He added that his enemies should wait till 2018 when he
leaves office at the end of his tenure.
"Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution gives me immunity just like
the President. I wouldn't know
why these people are intolerant of others and in a
haste. Let them wait till 2018 when I will end my
tenure for them to do their investigation. The
other time the EFCC accused me of embezzling
N1.2 billion poultry project fund, I was the one
who voluntarily reported myself to the EFCC.
"It was when I got a hint of their move that I
wrote a cheque to withdraw some money from
the account and I came myself. I was denied
access to the account as I was told the EFCC has
placed restriction on it. That is executive rascality
taken too far. Even when I had case with EFCC
my properties were not affected.
"If they say they are investigating money spent
on election, does it mean it is only Peoples Democratic Party that has
thieves, to them APC has no thieves." He complained angrily.

"A lot of petitions were written against former
Governor Kayode Fayemi and the EFCC has not
asked him a question up till now. The diversion of N850 million fund
meant for Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board is there and
nobody is asking Fayemi questions.
"Even the President cannot claim to be an angel.
The estate he built in Abuja is known to us. His
wife was indicted over the Halliburton Scandal.
When that American, Jefferson, was being
sentenced, the President's wife was mentioned as
having wired $170,000 to Jefferson. Her name
was on page 25 of the sentencing of Jefferson.
We can serialize the judgment for people to see and read. We will not
allow this and we will defend our rights within the law of the land.
Those who think they can silence me are
mistaken. I am a person who is not perturbed by
things like this. Let them wait till 2018 when I will finish my term
and I will be the one to go and meet them. I won't run away and let
them
investigate the whole world, I have nothing to
hide or fear," he said.

A source at EFCC said that governors were not immune to
investigatio, and that for the investigation to go on governor
Fayose's accounts had to be blocked.

JUST IN! TRUMP SACKS HIS CAMPAIGN MANAGER

Republican Presidential candidate-Donald Trump has made a
surprise move by sacking his embattled campaign manager Corey
Lewandowski. The campaign manager made headlines recently when he
forcefully grabbed a reporter's arm while trying to stop her from
moving forward with a question at a campaign event. He was an original
member of Trump's campaign team.
There have also been wide spread reports of an enstranged
relationship between Lewandaski and top members of the team. Including
Trump's chief strategiser Paul Manafort. The feud between Corey and
Paul Manafort has been on ever since Manafort came into the team. Most
times he hasn't given Manafort the breathing space to take take out
decisions. Some times overuling others.
In a statement to announce Corey's sack, Trump's campaign team
appreciated the efforts of the former campaign manager, especially in
creating a historic record of the highest number of votes gathered
during primaries.
"The Donald J. Trump Campaign for President,
which has set a historic record in the Republican
Primary having received almost 14 million votes,
has today announced that Corey Lewandowski
will no longer be working with the campaign,"
In another statement made by Trump's campaign spokes woman- Hope
Hicks. She said:
"The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard
work and dedication and we wish him the best in
the future."
For now Manafort is totally in charge of the campaign.
The news was received with joy by several quaters of the campaign team.
A top aide of Trump Michael Caputo took to twitter to share his
happiness at the development. He posted:
"ding dong the witch is dead"
The news comes weeks after reports of an internal tug of war in the
team became obvious. An anonymous source revealed that " 20 percent
percent of Manafort's time was spent dealing with Leywandowski."
Another source described the situation this way:
" Lewandowski, a Trump loyalist without major campaign
experience, repeatedly sparred with Manafort, a longtime insider who
was brought on as the campaign looked to close the sale in the primary
and pivot toward the general election."

WORLD REFUGEE DAY: ICELAND KICKS OUT BOKO HARAM VICTIM.

As we celebrate the World Refugee day, Al jeezra has brought the
story of an enterprising young Nigerian who got deported from iceland
after leaving there for four years now. For no other reason other than
he's not wanted.
Eze Okafor, a 32 year old man fled Nigeria 6 years ago in
2010,after being terrorised by the deadly islamic sect-Boko Haram.
According to him, he fled the country because the sect wanted to
recruit him as a member by force. He said that twice he and his
brother were attacked for not consenting to join the group. The second
time, his brother was killed while he escaped with injuries on his
face where he was stabbed by assailants.
Thereafter, Eze saw the need to flee for his life, and he did. He
made a very risky journey by boat to Europe and sought asylum in
Sweden. His plea was rejected despite showing the authorities his
fresh and infected wounds. He made his way to iceland, applied for
asylum in 2012,but that was also denied.
After the deadline for his asylum request elapsed(6months), he was
told to have his asylum request processed at the immigration. He got
to the immigration and another twist in the case came up:
"The police said I should come to sign and all of a sudden they took
me into custody. They arrested me. I spent the night in jail,"

"They next morning they said they were
deporting me. I said I should go and get my stuff
from my house. They said no. They took me to
the airport and manhandled me."
Eze also added that the treatment he received from the immigration
unit, did not go down well with his friends who raised protests.
"In Iceland, I have been integrated into society, with so many
friends. A lot of people know me. So when the police was beating me,
when I was arrested, there was a lot of reaction."
On may 26, he was handcuffed and put on a plane for deportation.
Two members of a human rights group tried to rouse other passengers of
the plane to protest against the treatment, but that only got them
arrested.
He was taken back to Stockholm in Sweden, and in place of the only
ID he had- his driver's license, a paper was handed to him which
stated that he had no rights to any financial assistance or whatsover.
He spent his first night on the streets.

Fear of the unknown.
Eze has been given a deadline of June 1, to leave Sweden or be
deported, this time straight to Nigeria. Today, Eze is uncertain and
confused about his future. But he believes one thing, returning to
Nigeria would mean death for him.
"The activities of Boko Haram are real and are at all levels of the
government. They have a network" he said.
He said his mother taught him how to cook, and that he loves cooking
Nigerian dishes. Adding that cooking is his passion, and that he loved
his job working in a restaurant in Iceland.
He also talked about the possibility of his going back to iceland.
And opening a restaurant.

"When I was in handcuffs on my way to Sweden, I was pleading with
them," Eze said. "I am not a criminal. I did not commit any crime. I
am asking for refuge. They should treat me like a human."
He lamented with pain.

CRIME REDUCTION: HOLLAND TO CLOSE PRISONS.

The Netherlands(Holland) are considering closing down a dozen
prison yards, due to the sharp decline in crime. With only 12,000
detainees currently occupying surplus 14,000 capacity prisons, the
government wants to begin infrastuctural conversion.
But countries like Belgium and Norway have transferred some of
their detainees to prisons in the Netherlands, due to over crowded
prisons.
The crime decline in holland has been steady for over a decade,
probably the result of an extensive rehabillitation programme for
criminals, and loose drug laws in the country. Between 2012 and 2013
over 25 jail cells were closed.

YOUTHS ATTACK 'NEPA' WORKERS IN BAYELSA.

Workers at the Portharcourt Electric Distribution company in
Yenagoa were attacked by a mob of angry youths yesterday. With just a
few of them escaping being lynched. But the business service manager
was cut with a matchet and left to bleed, another was pushed from a
ladder while doing some disconnections.

blackout experienced in the area for days consecutively, the company
had been harrassing them with security operatives. Requesting for
service payment.
The Chief Operating officer PHED Engineer Kingsley Achife confirmed
the attack on the workers and added security operatives attached to
the staff were attacked.
Engineer Achife also appealed to the public and youths to stop
attacking and harrassing staff of the company. It was reported that
the Efie community, where the company's branch was attacked was oweing
a debt of about N60million in arears and N2million on the current

BUHARI: I FEEL STRONGER.

After spending a fortnight in London, treatingan ear infection,
the President is back to Nigeria and he says he has never felt any
better.
"You saw me before I left, you are seeing me now, if you doubt it,
you can challenge me to a wrestling match, but you know I'm taller
(laughs)"
He said this while addressing a few members of the house of the
state house correspondents and the press at the Nnamdi Azikiwe.
Airport in Abuja. Shortly after he arrived the country.
"You can do the assessment yourself" he said while inspecting the
guards of hounour.
But the President did something fascinating, rather than use the
helicopter assigned to take him to the villa, he chose to go by. Road.
Before I forget again... Welcome back Mr. President!
