FLOOD IN US LEAVES 23 DEAD AND HUNDREDS HOMELESS.

Ravaging flood in west virginia has left about 23 people dead,
hundreds injured and thousands stranded without power supply. Gov Earl
Ray Tomblin in a news conference yesterday that the toll was at 14,
but between then and now officials have confirmed that the death toll
had increased to 23.

Trees, and electric poles crashed down, sending majority of the
area into darkness. People were trapped in their cars and buildings,
and even a few toddlers have been slipped away by the flood.
Over fourty counties yesterday, declared a state of emergency as
Gov. Tomblin activated over 200 National guards for rescue. With 300
more waiting in the line, to assist the counties that are heavily
affected.
A 4 year old boy was washed away by a fast flowing stream of water
while playing with his sister. And an 8 year old boy slipped from his
grandpa's hand, and even though his grand pa made efforts to rescue
him, it wasn't possible due to the fast flowing current of water.
Properties worth millions have been destroyed and cars submerged. More
people have been found to be trapped in their cars. The rains have
also flushed away access roads leaving people stranded in malls and
corporates buildings. And emergency crews had to construct tempoary
gravel roads to lead people away from malls.
Side reports also added that open resorts including golf courses
and play parks are deep down in water.
